Last full day of Session 2

Last night we hiked up to Bald Eagle and enjoyed some fun animal facts from Camp Akita Counselor Andy Frick and then enjoyed our traditional 20 minutes of silence before heading back down to main camp.

Today we had a rainy day here at Camp Akita, but that did not stop the fun! We started off by playing a game of Clue to

find some of our counselors hiding through out camp. Afterwards we had a lovely lunch of Philly Cheesesteaks and went off to free time. We were lucky that the rain cleared out to enjoy our last day at the lake and out at the tower. We also had our traditional last day 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament for options during our free time hours.

IMG_1447We are now wrapping up our evening with a “Say-so”, this is something we do at the end of every session and campers can choose to stand and speak or just patiently listen to others. We have loved every second of this session and hope for safe travels tomorrow as everyone departs home and goes down their separate paths!

DURO NIGHT-SESSION 2

We had a fun filled evening with lots of soap and mud! To kick things off we went to the far field where all of the campers were a part of a sock war! The goal was to get the other team members out by lightly hitting them with a sock! Then the campers were surprised with a GIANT SOAP SLIDE on the near field.

This was the best soap slide ever, huge smiles as everyone went down countless amounts of times with their cabin-mates, counselors and new friends. IMG_8258

In between running up the hill to catch another turn campers enjoyed dancing for candy and jumping into mud pits before the next round of soap cleared it all away.

After the giant soap slide…there was a giant foam party for everyone to enjoy! All of the popular songs were played and everyone danced the night away until it was time to take showers.

To calm things down a bit everyone had a quick bite for snack and are currently over in the Main Room watching a movie before bedtime! Tomorrow we hope that the weather remains calm so we can enjoy our traditional hike to Bald Eagle!
